Last year a friend of the family was involved in an accident, suffering a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and a subsequent stroke. I was concerned but pretty ignorant about what all this could mean for him and his family.
Shortly after the accident I read My Stroke of Insight, and began to realize the extent to which brain damage can change lives. I wanted to know more. The more I looked on the internet and in the library, the more surprised I was at the prevalence of TBI.
