Brain Recovery Support for Returning to Work – US and Canada
Our work with TBI survivors in the US and Canada has made us aware that many survivors have little support as they prepare to return to the workforce and then actually resume work. There are exceptions but, in too many cases, the recovering employee is on his/her own, as are the employer and other employees who must interact with the survivor.
We are now developing support systems to aid TBI survivors in returning to work. Our goal is to work with TBI survivors who hope to return to the workforce within the next year. We will be structuring these work-related support systems based on our cognitive retraining experiences with the client, to insure that each system fits the specific strengths and needs of the worker.
Dr. Clair’s experience in supervising and training employees, and her background in methods/procedures analysis and documentation enable her to work effectively with both employers and employees. Our virtual assistance tools allow us to reach out to clients all over the United States and Canada. Skype, a free teleconferencing service, helps us to keep costs down; other technologies (podcasts, videos, webinars, online exercises and tests) help us to make our materials and exercises interesting as well as practical.
