Broken Bodies, Shattered Minds; The Concussion Crisis

Two important books – one with excellent information on our returning soldiers, the other on concussions in civilian life as well as on the battlefield.

Ronald Glasser, MD writes compellingly about changes in injuries and treatment for wounded soldiers in wars from Vietnam to our current battlefields:  Broken Bodies, Shattered Minds: A Medical Odyssey from Vietnam to Afghanistan.

Linda Carroll and David Rosner describe the prevalence of brain injuries all around us in The Concussion Crisis: Anatomy of a Silent Epidemic.

I emailed you privately some time ago. I hope things are going better for you. You might look into Interactive Metronome – something the VA is excited about based on extensive research. There are providers all over the world.

I have spent years studying psychology (I have a PhD) and more years practicing it. It would be irresponsible and unprofessional to entrust important information to people not as familiar with this topic. I don’t enjoy writing but I care a great deal about sharing this information as clearly and helpfully as possible.
